         involvement of nurse leaders in policy making and implementation.  Nurses in various countries, Africa inclusive form the majority of the healthcare workforce. As a part of the multidisciplinary team, nurses take a leading role in cancer-control programmes at all levels.

They are often the first point of contact in the hospital settings and communities

Unfortunately, oncology nursing in most African countries is yet to be established.

There are about 6 out of 22 African countries that have been reported to no trained oncology nurses at all (Mitema et al, 2019).

Hence, the need for nurses to aim at synergizing to have more training institutions
